What is the difference between the Brick Classic and the Brick BBQ?
The Brick Classic has a smooth surface and is particularly suitable for baking bread, as well as for casseroles and delicate doughs.
The Brick BBQ is equipped with aroma studs. These promote more intense browning and strong roasted aromas – ideal for savory oven and grilled dishes.
If you particularly enjoy baking bread, we recommend the Brick Classic. If strong roasted aromas and hearty dishes are your focus, the Brick BBQ is the more suitable choice.
Is the bread crock glazed on the inside?
Yes, the interior surface of the bread crock is glazed. This makes it particularly easy to clean and gives it a pleasant smooth feel. The inside of the lid remains deliberately open-pored. It supports the natural regulation of moisture and thus contributes to a balanced climate inside the crock.
What's the difference between the Signature Edition and the color-glazed variants?
Functionally, both versions offer the same proven properties. The difference lies primarily in the surface and manufacturing process.
With the Signature Edition, the natural clay surface remains visible on the outside. The colored glazed versions additionally receive a glaze and are fired again in an additional work step.
The slightly higher price of the glazed versions results from this more elaborate finishing. This way, you can choose the version that best suits your style and home.
Why might the color effect of my myromy ceramics be slightly different?
Ceramic is a natural material, and glazes can also react slightly differently during the firing process. This creates subtle nuances in color, brightness, or surface texture, which are part of the handmade character of our products and make each piece a little unique.
Lighting conditions and display on different screens can also influence how a color is perceived.
Should the color effect seem unusual to you or appear significantly different than expected, please feel free to send us a photo via our contact form. Our service team will then check whether it is a normal color nuance due to material and manufacturing, or whether the deviation is outside the usual range.
Why can the glaze on our products sometimes feel matte or slightly rough?
For our products, we use a glaze specifically formulated for the ceramic. As a result, the surface can feel more matte or slightly textured compared with a classic smooth, glossy glaze.
This special surface is intentional and is a property of the material. It results from the interaction between the ceramic and the glaze used. Use depends on the specific product: for the ceramic roaster, preheating empty is possible · soaking is optional. For other myromy forms, please follow the respective usage instructions.

Application & Baking
Whether it's the oven, microwave, or bread baking: This section is about the correct use of your myromy heat-resistant ceramic and practical tips for great results.
My lid doesn't fit quite right – is that that normal?
At myromy, the pot and lid are matched during the manufacturing process and "married" together in the final firing. This creates the best possible fit between the two parts.
Since ceramic is a natural material and is handcrafted, it can happen that the lid does not lie completely flat in a certain position. In this case, turn the lid 180° – it often finds its optimal position this way.
If the lid still lies unevenly or you have the impression that something is wrong, please send us a photo via our contact form. We will then examine the case individually.
Can I bake chilled bread dough directly in a preheated myromy?
Yes. Well-chilled bread dough after a cold final proof can be placed directly into a preheated Brick or ceramic roaster as part of the baking method described. This use is expressly intended and is an exception to the general recommendation to avoid strong temperature changes.
Important: The ceramic itself should not be strongly chilled or frozen and then heated immediately.
Are our myromy products suitable for the stove or hob?
Depending on the product, our myromy heat-resistant ceramic intended for this purpose can be used over an open flame. It is not designed for hotplates or cooktops, however. This includes in particular gas stoves or gas cooktops, electric hotplates, conventional electrically heated glass-ceramic cooktops and induction cooktops.
These cooktops can heat the base of the ceramic very directly or unevenly. With induction, there is the additional issue that conventional ceramic cannot interact with the electromagnetic field.
We are already working on a new product developed specifically for induction cooktops. Until it is released, the myromy products currently available are not suitable for induction.
Please always follow the usage instructions for the respective product. For many dishes, preparation in the oven is especially suitable.
Can I use my myromy product in the microwave?
Our myromy heat-retaining ceramic is suitable for microwave use. This includes the Brick Classic, the Brick BBQ, the ceramic roaster and Bread Baking Dish, the Plancha BBQ, and the Casserole and Baking Dish.
It is best to heat your food gently and avoid abrupt heating at maximum power as well as large temperature differences.
The Bread Freshness Pot is exclusively for storage and must not be used in the microwave.
How do I prevent bread from sticking in the myromy Brick or bread baking dish?
That mainly depends on the consistency of your dough. For firmer, easy-to-shape bread doughs, lightly flouring the Brick Classic or ceramic roaster is usually sufficient.
If the dough is a little softer or stickier, a small amount of clarified butter or butterfat can also help. For very soft or particularly high-hydration doughs, we recommend using baking paper – this makes it easier to place the dough inside and remove the bread later.
Let the bread cool briefly after baking before carefully removing it from the form.
Why didn't my bread rise properly in the Brick Classic or ceramic roaster?
If your bread rises less than expected, the way the bake starts can be one reason. For a stronger oven spring, we recommend preheating the Brick Classic or ceramic roaster in the oven, then carefully placing the prepared dough inside and closing the lid immediately.
Well-chilled dough after a cold final proof can also be placed directly into the preheated Brick or ceramic roaster. The key point is that the ceramic itself must not be strongly chilled when it goes into the hot oven.
The stored heat helps the dough develop well at the start of baking. The proofing time, dough consistency and the recipe used can also influence the result.
You can find suitable bread recipes and coordinated preparation instructions in our recipe section.
How much bread dough is the Brick Classic suitable for?
The Brick Classic is designed for approximately 500 g of prepared bread dough. This figure refers to the total weight of the already mixed dough – not the amount of flour used or the weight of the finished baked bread.
With this quantity, the dough has sufficient space in the Brick Classic to develop well during baking. For very soft, sticky, or highly hydrated doughs, we also recommend using baking paper as a liner.
Can I use the lid of the Brick separately?
Yes, you can also use the lid of the Brick separately as a small casserole or baking dish. It is particularly suitable for smaller oven dishes, vegetables, gratins, feta, side dishes, or for gratinating.
For dishes with a lot of liquid or a bit more height, we recommend the base of the Brick. This way, the Brick provides you with two versatile ceramic dishes at once.
Keeping bread fresh
For bread and baked goods to stay fresh as long as possible, the correct use and suitable location of the bread fresh-keeping pot are crucial.
How do I use the bread storage pot correctly?
Place your bread or baked goods directly and as loosely as possible into the bread freshness pot and then close the lid. This allows the natural microclimate to form inside, which balances moisture and helps to keep the bread fresh for longer.
Whole loaves of bread are particularly suitable as they have less cut surface area. You can also place very fresh or moist bread in a clean linen cloth. Avoid stacking baked goods so that air can continue to circulate well.
Place the bread freshness pot in a dry, well-ventilated place – not in a cupboard or refrigerator. In case of high humidity or very fresh bread, it helps to occasionally open the pot briefly.
The bread freshness pot is intended exclusively for storage and may not be used for baking or heating.
How can I prevent mold in the bread bin?
Only place completely cooled bread in the Bread Freshness Pot and make sure that too much moisture does not build up inside over time. Very fresh or still slightly moist bread should first be allowed to release its steam completely before being placed in the pot.
In higher humidity or with very fresh bread, it can help to open the lid briefly from time to time so excess moisture can escape.
If mold nevertheless develops, dispose of the affected food and clean the Bread Freshness Pot thoroughly. Then allow it to dry completely before using it again.
After cleaning, it is also important that the pot and lid dry completely before they are used again or stored closed. The open-pored areas in particular can still contain residual moisture even when they already look dry on the outside. It is therefore better to leave the pot open and well ventilated to dry for a little longer.
Our special tip: As a preventive measure or after mold has occurred, you can lightly spray the empty, clean pot with apple cider vinegar. Then let it air out and dry completely before placing bread in it again.
Cleaning & Care
To ensure you enjoy your myromy ceramics for a long time, here you will find practical tips on cleaning, drying, and storage, as well as how to deal with discoloration and signs of wear.
How do I clean my myromy product?
First, allow your myromy product to cool down completely after use. Then clean it with warm water, a little dish soap, and a soft sponge or brush.
For stubborn residues, you can soak the product briefly and then carefully brush them off. Please do not use metal scourers, steel wool, or sharp blades. Our myromy products can also be cleaned in the standard cycle of a dishwasher.
After cleaning, allow the ceramic to dry completely and never store products with lids damp or tightly sealed. For the bread freshness pot, it is particularly important to store the empty pot in a dry, well-ventilated place outside of a cupboard. Place the lid slightly askew so that air can circulate.
What can I do about grease stains or discolorations?
With the Signature Edition, the natural, open-pored clay surface remains visible. Over time, traces of fat, oil or food can appear and an individual patina can develop. This is part of the natural character of the material and makes each piece a little more unique with use.
Fresh residues are best removed promptly with warm water, a little washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. Discoloration that has already penetrated the open-pored surface may not be completely removable.
If you want to keep the surface as even as possible, avoid leaving fat, oil or strongly staining foods on unglazed areas for longer than necessary and wipe away spilled liquids promptly.
If you prefer a particularly even and easy-care appearance, our colored glazed variants are a beautiful alternative.
What should I do if my myromy product has a crack?
If you notice visible cracks, chips, deformation or other unusual changes, please stop using the product for the time being. This applies both to our heat-resistant ceramics and to products for food storage. Our service team will be happy to take a closer look and help you assess the situation.
