After the insolvency of the traditional Römertopf® brand, an investor acquired the naming rights and moved production to another location, raising concerns about the loss of traditional German craftsmanship and numerous jobs.
Together with his team, ceramic pioneer Michael Zimmer recognized the opportunity to preserve the heritage at the Westerwald site and carry it into the future – and founded the myromy brand to continue production in Ransbach-Baumbach.

We not only acquired all of Römertopf®’s production machinery from the insolvency estate, but also the former employees together with the know-how they had built up over decades.
After extensive restoration, we integrated the machines into our factory and created the new production site for myromy.
Using the Newkom Group’s ceramic expertise, the classic clay roaster was further developed for modern applications. With the ceramic roaster, soaking is now optional – what used to be a must is now a choice.
The cooking ceramic material is heat-resistant up to 900 °C. The ceramic roaster can be preheated empty; the respective usage instructions apply to all products.

Traditional craftsmanship brought back to life
A machine alone is nothing without the people who understand and operate it. That is why we brought former Römertopf® employees back on board – within sight of the former production site in Ransbach-Baumbach – true masters of their craft who can tell, with practiced hands and a trained ear, when the press is running perfectly.
Only with this press are we able to produce our cooking ceramics here in the heart of the Westerwald, with an origin we are proud of.
Traditional craftsmanship brought back to life
Some people collect classic cars. myromy saved one.
But not just any one: a ceramic press, one of the last of its kind – a metal giant born five decades ago in America, a symbol of durable engineering and once the heart of German cooking-ceramic craftsmanship.
When we began the myromy mission, we knew:
without this machine there would be no iconic cookware Made in Germany capable of preserving the tradition of generations while carrying it into the modern age. But when we found the machine, it had grown tired. Covered in layers of dust, with rusted pistons, grinding gears and hydraulics long gone silent, it stood still – forgotten, almost lost.
But we did not give up.

For more than a year, it was restored, repaired and adjusted.
We tracked down spare parts where others had long since given up – in small workshops, abandoned warehouses and sometimes literally on the other side of the world.
Every move was a promise: we will bring you back to life. To the cheers of our team, it started up again – the mighty RAM press, shaping our Westerwald natural clay with thunderous strokes, just as iconic roasters have been made in Germany since the beginning of this tradition.
