Because we believe in Germany as a business location.

Following the insolvency of the traditional Römertopf® brand, an investor acquired the naming rights and relocated production elsewhere, sparking concerns about the loss of traditional German craftsmanship and many jobs.
Ceramics pioneer Michael Zimmer and his team recognized the opportunity to preserve this valuable heritage at the Westerwald site and guide it into the future.

We have not only taken over all of Römertopf®'s production machines, but also the former employees and the know-how they have acquired over decades.
After extensive restoration, we integrated the machines into our factory and created the new production facility for myromy.

More than a year of restoration for the original
Some people collect vintage cars. Myromy saved one.
But not just any old one: a ceramic RAM press, one of the last of its kind – a metal giant, born five decades ago in America – a symbol of long-lasting engineering and once the heart of German cooking ceramics.
When we started the myromy mission, we knew:
Without this machine, there will be no iconic cookware made in Germany that can preserve the tradition of generations while simultaneously transporting it into the modern age. But when we found the machine, it had grown tired. Covered in layers of dust, its pistons rusted, its gears grinding, its hydraulics long since silent. It stood idle – forgotten, almost lost.
But we didn't give up.
More than a year of restoration for the original.
We dismantled the old lady into thousands of individual parts, shipped them, searched, and made phone calls. We tracked down spare parts where others had long since given up – in small workshops, abandoned warehouses, sometimes literally on the other side of the world.
Over a year of restoration, tinkering and adjustments were carried out.
Every move was a promise: We'll bring you back to life. To the cheers of our team, the mighty RAM press started up again, shaping our Westerwald natural clay with thunderous strokes – just as iconic roasting pans have been made in Germany since the beginning of the tradition.
More than a year of restoration for the original.
A machine alone is nothing without the people who understand and operate it. That's why we brought former Römertopf© employees back on board – within direct sight of the former production facility in Ransbach-Baumbach – true masters of their craft, with practiced hands and a trained ear to sense when it's running perfectly.
Only with her are we able to produce our cooking ceramics today, in the heart of the Westerwald, with an origin that we are proud of.
